A history about drones
A drone is an aircraft without a human pilot on-board. It can be flown by either a remote control or autonomously by on-board computers.
The innovation for drones began in the early 1900's. Drones at the time were used for target practice for military personnel, so they were not as important or expensive as they are now! The drone was further developed in World war 1 when the Dayton-Wright Air-Plane Company came up with a pilot-less aerial torpedo that would drop and explode at a pre-set time. in 1935, the first remotely controlled drone was created. more of these drones were made and was used in world war 2 for both training and attack missions. The United States began to develop these drones due to the amount of life lost of pilots in combat. During 1973, the U.S. used UAV's over Vietnam to do all of the high risk jobs. Later that year, General John C. Meyer stated, "we let the drone do the high-risk flying, the loss rate is high, but we are willing to risk more of them, they save lives!" Drones have been used in most wars since the 1970's and have further developed since in each country that they are operated in.
